Waste Not, Want Not

09 May Waste Not, Want Not

By Gary Downing

fresh lemons on a white backgroundOne very important thing that I have learned in making homemade, chemical-free cleaning products is that just about everything can be used.

For example, I use skin of lemons peels for a natural fresh fragrance. It’s an all purpose cleaner

Here is what you do:

  1. Take the skin from lemons a put in a class jar.
  2. Pour 50 percent distilled water/50 percent white vinegar in the jar.
  3. Seal the jar tightly.
  4. Keep everything the jar sealed tight for 21 days.
  5. After 21 days open jar and put into spray bottle for an all-purpose cleaner with a natural scent.

You might want to think twice before you through away the lemon peeled skins!
